Pharmacy Residency Programs
As a steward of the advancement of pharmacy practice, CPS proudly supports several Pharmacy Practice Residency Programs. These postgraduate training programs are focused on advancing skills in direct patient care, patient care service development, and practice management in settings where the resident can develop a robust and diverse experiences. These skill sets can then be applied in future practice settings and professional endeavors.
The residency goals and objectives include: enhancement of communication skills, drug therapy assessment and review, physician rounding and patient education, involvement with pharmacy delivery systems, drug information, pharmacokinetic assessment, education and precepting of pharmacy students, and education of medical staff. CPS also supports the “Goal Statements, Objectives, and Instructional objectives for Pharmacy Practice Residency Training” by the American Society of Health System Pharmacist (ASHP).
